David is a real estate and commercial tax attorney serving clients in Washington, D.C., and Maryland. With over 25 years of experience, he brings specialized expertise in mediation, arbitration, contract negotiation, commercial tax, and real property law. Before joining Ryan Law, David co-founded a cloud-based technology platform aimed at scaling public and private initiatives to expand affordable housing development and redevelopment. He began his legal career as an associate in the venture capital and corporate group at DLA Piper, where he represented emerging growth companies in a wide range of corporate and financial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, leveraged buyouts, debt and equity financings, IPOs, and corporate structuring.
David is actively involved in numerous community, civic, and professional organizations. He is especially dedicated to advancing equity for underserved youth. He is a founding member of the DC International School, where he served as vice-chair for nine years and played a key role on the facilities committee, helping to lead the $51 million renovation of the historic Walter Reed campus.
Outside of his legal practice, David is an avid traveler, passionate cook, amateur genealogist, and proud husband and father of three. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Tufts University and a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School.
