Austin K. Hamby is a seasoned litigator who represents commercial property clients through the entire tax protest process. As a tax litigator, Austin primarily focuses on property tax appeals at both the administrative and district court levels, with a particular emphasis on healthcare and assisted living properties.
Before joining Ryan Law, Austin served the State of Texas as a prosecutor and an Assistant Attorney General. As a prosecutor, he gained extensive courtroom experience trying felony cases and handling evidentiary motions. At the Texas Attorney General’s office, he transitioned to civil litigation, representing state agencies in complex claims involving constitutional, ADA/Disability, administrative, and personal injury claims. During this time, he authored multiple successful dispositive motions and appellate briefs, while also obtaining favorable settlements through mediation and negotiation. Austin later moved to the private sector, where he represented business clients in personal injury, premises liability, and employment law cases. Today, he leverages this comprehensive background to advocate for his tax clients through every phase of the litigation process.
In his free time, you can find Austin rooting for his Texas Longhorns, trying a new restaurant, or on Lake Travis.
