MARK S. HUTCHESON, CMI, CRE, ESQ. is the managing partner of the law firm of Popp Hutcheson PLLC in Austin, Texas, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ryan Law and a Principal in the Ryan LLC Austin Office.
He has devoted his practice to representing taxpayers in property tax disputes for over 25 years. Mark has served on the Institute for Professionals in Taxation’s Board of Governors and as its past president. He served on and chaired the IPT CMI Professional Designation Committee for Property Tax for over a decade and was the recipient of IPT’s Special Service Award in 2014. In 2016 he received CRE designation from The Counselors of Real Estate.
Mark was the recipient of the coveted Peveto Award, recognizing dedication to teaching and serving Texans in the field of ad valorem taxation in 2021.
He has presented cases at trial and on appeal before district and appellate courts, including the Supreme Court of Texas and is a Licensed Senior Property Tax Consultant in Texas.
After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas he graduated magna cum laude from Baylor Law School, where he served as Managing Editor of the Baylor Law Review. Mark served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1989 – 1996.
